Position Overview: Verra Mobility is hiring an Accounting Manager in the centralized accounting function. This position will report to the Assistant Controller and currently has one direct report.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a direct report including providing guidance, coaching, and training to ensure their professional development and effective performance
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of fixed assets, general ledger, and month-end/year-end close processes
- Responsible for managing our inventory processes and completing tasks including but not limited to inventory revaluations, reviewing standard costs, and supporting the inventory counts.
- Manage and review analysis, reports, journal entries and reconciliations prepared by the team.
- Review financial statements, and provide explanations for fluctuations of accounts to senior leadership as needed
- Demonstrate attention to detail and effective multi-tasking
- Provide support to internal and external auditors in connection with the year-end audit and quarterly reviews
- Continuously assess and improve accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 12 years accounting experience
- 7-9 years experience performing fixed assets and related duties
- Proficient with MS Excel and use of formulas
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with people cross-functionally
