Role Summary

The Web Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, optimization, and security of the organization’s websites and digital platforms. The role ensures websites remain functional, secure, up-to-date, and aligned with business and user experience objectives. The successful candidate will oversee website performance, troubleshoot technical issues, manage content updates, support SEO and analytics reporting, and collaborate closely with developers, designers, and content teams to deliver seamless digital experiences across platforms.


Key Responsibilities

Website Management & Maintenance

  • Manage and maintain company websites and digital platforms to ensure optimal functionality, uptime, and user experience.
  • Perform regular website updates including content uploads, page creation, media updates, and structural improvements.
  • Manage CMS platforms including plugin, theme, and module updates while ensuring compatibility and stability.
  • Monitor website health, performance, and responsiveness across devices and browsers.
  • Conduct regular backups and recovery testing to ensure business continuity.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve website-related technical issues including broken links, page errors, performance issues, and system bugs.
  • Support deployment and testing of website enhancements, integrations, and new functionalities.
  • Coordinate with developers and third-party vendors on escalated technical issues and platform improvements.
  • Ensure websites comply with accessibility, functionality, and usability standards.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization

  • Monitor website performance metrics including traffic, speed, uptime, and user engagement.
  • Utilize analytics and reporting tools to generate insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Support SEO optimization initiatives including metadata management, site structure improvements, and performance enhancements.
  • Optimize websites for speed, performance, and mobile responsiveness.

Security & Compliance

  • Maintain website security standards including monitoring vulnerabilities, managing access permissions, and implementing security best practices.
  • Ensure websites and digital assets comply with data protection and cybersecurity standards.
  • Manage SSL certificates, firewalls, hosting environments, and related security configurations.
  • Conduct routine security audits and implement preventive measures against cyber threats and data breaches.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Support

  • Work closely with content, design, technology, and marketing teams to implement website updates and digital campaigns.
  • Support internal stakeholders with website-related requests and technical guidance.
  • Coordinate with external hosting providers, developers, and digital vendors where required.
  • Contribute to digital innovation initiatives and continuous improvement of online user experience.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in web administration, website management, or web development.
  • Hands-on experience managing CMS platforms such as WordPress, Joomla, Laravel, Strapi, or similar technologies.
  • Experience working with hosting environments and web server administration.
  • Strong understanding of website security principles and performance optimization.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a digital agency, media, or fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with SEO tools and web analytics platforms.
  • Certifications in web technologies, cybersecurity, or cloud hosting are an added advantage
