DISPUTES & INVESTIGATIONS JUNIOR CASE MANAGER

Leading global corporate intelligence and cyber security consultancy S-RM is seeking an exceptional investigation professional to join our dynamic Disputes & Investigations team in Singapore as a junior Case Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong technical Investigator to shift into a role more focused on client and case management, responding to the complex contentious situations facing our clients today.

WHO ARE WE

S-RM is a global intelligence and cyber security consultancy. Since 2005, we’ve helped companies, governments and private individuals solve some of their most complex and sensitive challenges.

Our Corporate Intelligence division uses the latest research and intelligence-gathering techniques to investigate how companies and individuals really do business in today’s world. We work with some of the most prominent and sophisticated organisations to help them understand partners, customers, assets and territories across the globe. We also provide specialised investigative support to law firms, businesses and individuals in contentious situations such as litigation, commercial disputes and internal investigations.

From our offices in London, Cape Town, New York, Washington DC, Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, we deliver critical insights from every country across the world. Further information about each of our five Corporate Intelligence practice areas can be found on our website: Compliance Due Diligence, Deal Advisory, Disputes & Investigations, and Strategic Intelligence.

THE ROLE

As a Case Manager, you will play an important role in the way that we engage with our clients. We are looking for someone with the ability to propose creative solutions to client problems and deliver quality investigative findings based on open source research, human intelligence and the robust analysis of intelligence.

The Disputes & Investigations practice is a fast-paced environment and a fast-growing team, comprised of senior investigators with a diverse range of experience and a varied pipeline of complex work. The core of the team is based in London with representation and growing practices in our New York and Singapore offices. As well as asset recovery, litigation support and private client work, the team works closely with our Digital Forensics practice on internal corporate investigations.

Good teamwork and clear communication are integral to success at S-RM. We work collaboratively to address complex intelligence challenges and provide our clients with well-sourced, sophisticated reporting on contentious and sensitive issues. As you develop in the role, you will be expected to nurture a network of external contacts, and to build up your knowledge of the commercial and legal dynamics that impact our work. You will also be expected to keep abreast of key developments in the Disputes & Investigations space, and to guide the analysts whose work you manage to ensure it is as incisive and robust as possible.

We’re looking for someone with a proven track record of working on complex investigations, who is ready to progress their career in a management role, taking responsibility for the matters they oversee and ensuring we continue to deliver the best possible outcomes for clients.

The responsibilities of the successful candidate will likely include:

  • Research, analysis and intelligence gathering on complex disputes and investigations projects.
  • Supporting source-focused investigations and analysing human intelligence.
  • Growing our research and intelligence capabilities and ensuring our competitive edge.
  • Scoping, planning and supporting on new projects.
  • Leading and/or supporting with case management, including editing written work product.
  • Writing proposals for new business.
  • Developing relationships with subcontractors and sources, and tasking them effectively.
  • Training analysts and senior analysts on the latest investigative methodologies.
  • Presenting findings to colleagues, senior management and clients.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Our Case Managers are experienced investigators and research practitioners, who are confident in navigating and leading investigations. They are able to complete smaller investigations autonomously, sometimes delivering these reports themselves but usually overseeing analysts, and to provide a significant contribution as part of a larger investigative team for our most complex work.

That said, if you don’t think you meet all of the criteria below but still are interested in the job, please apply. Nobody checks every box—we’re looking for candidates that are particularly strong in a few areas and have some interest and capabilities in others.

We’re looking for the following experience and qualifications:

  • Ideally around 3-5 years’ experience in the Disputes & Investigations space, although if you have strong and varied experience in Corporate Intelligence and are interested in D&I specifically; or a background in investigative journalism, law / regulatory enforcement, forensic accounting, please do still apply.
  • An investigative and analytical mindset, with demonstrated experience in complex disputes, litigation support, international asset tracing, or related services.
  • Well-honed research skills and attention to detail.
  • Client communication and relationship development skills.
  • Independent and proactive working style, with the interpersonal skills to work across global teams and contribute to a high-performing, collegiate culture.
  • An agile and proactive approach to your own career development.
  • Ability to think laterally and to solve complex problems creatively.
  • Capability to thrive and deliver under pressure.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, capable of delivering incisive, clear, and detailed findings for sophisticated clients.

The role will be based in our Singapore office. All candidates must have permission to work in Singapore by the start of their employment.
