What You'll Do
- Design Excellence: Create detailed 2D cross-sections, 3D models, and Model-Based Definitions (MBD) within Siemens NX and Teamcenter environments.
- If required, aid in the redesign of various externals components, support the investigation of root cause for failures, and subsequent design reviews.
- Innovative Development: Conceptualize and design gas turbine external components, pushing the boundaries of engineering.
- Collaborative Engineering: Work with cross-functional teams to define dimensional constraints and geometric tolerances, ensuring optimal manufacturing processes.
- Quality Assurance: Utilize Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to drive improvements in quality, speed, and precision.
- Project Management: Navigate CAD and CAM environments, managing projects within budget and schedule, delivering uncompromising quality.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 year in 3D modeling of aero-engines and gas turbine components; proficiency in Siemens NX/Teamcenter preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing; ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage with team members at all levels.
- Security Clearance: U.S. citizenship required; active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Degree: Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 1-3 years of product definition experience.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with Siemens NX CAD Drafting and MBD, and Teamcenter PLM in designing mechanical engine components.
- Experience in adoption and/or integration of emerging technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation platforms, digital assistants) into day-to-day operations for continuous improvement.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
- Substantial amounts of telephone, video conferencing and computer work.
- Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
- Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
- Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
- Ability to get to customer locations to visit customer locations.
