Principal Network Engineer – APAC
What You'll Be Doing
- Be a team player to scale a high-performing engineering team responsible for core platform systems used across the company
- Define and drive multi-quarter platform initiatives that improve delivery velocity, system reliability/quality based on network validations, and evolve the product in partnership with Product Management and Partner Engineering teams
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering leaders to evolve the platform as a product, balancing long-term architecture with near-term business needs
- Take ambiguous, high-impact problem areas (e.g. system scalability, vendor experience, platform abstractions) and turn them into clear execution plans
- Drive alignment across multiple teams working on complex, interdependent systems including internal platforms, infrastructure, and developer tooling
- Raise the bar on engineering quality, operational excellence, and execution across the platform organization
About You
- Masters/ Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Technology or equivalent
- At least 10+ years of Network Engineering experience
- Experience in working in a large ISP/Cloud provider environment and in Network operations role
- Experience with overlay Networking will be a plus
- Must be able to travel across APAC up to 50% of the time
Technical Experience
- Experience with Infiniband or RoCE networking
- Strong knowledge of protocols such as MPLS, BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, and DHCP. Also, VxLAN and EVPN will be an added advantage
- Experience with scripting or automation and Data Centre design – Python preferred, but must demonstrate expertise in scripting or compiled language
- Experience with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and SSL, network monitoring, and telemetry solutions
- Experience with network modelling and programming – YANG, OpenConfig, NETCONF
- Ability to use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
- Capable of working under limited supervision
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent judgment in influencing product roadmap direction, features, and priorities.
- Participate in an on-call rotation
