This individual should be highly organized, technology savvy, and comfortable working with large volumes of financial data across multiple systems. We are looking for a self-motivated professional who takes ownership of responsibilities, identifies issues and opportunities, can effectively manage competing priorities, and collaborates well with internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare, maintain, and regularly update the company’s 13-week cash flow projection, incorporating expected receipts, disbursements, operating requirements, debt activity, and other significant cash movements.
- Monitor daily cash balances and liquidity across bank accounts and ensure sufficient funds are available to meet the company’s operating and financing obligations.
- Post cash entries, perform cash reconciliations, and investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank activity, cash records, and the general ledger.
- Manage loan repayment and borrowing activities, including coordinating funding requirements, repayments, and related documentation with lenders and internal stakeholders.
- Support the financing and refinancing of term loans, mortgages, and equipment financing for the business and its affiliates, including coordinating with lenders and internal stakeholders and maintaining related documentation.
- Prepare and maintain borrowing base reports and supporting schedules in accordance with lender requirements.
- Prepare monthly or quarterly covenant compliance certificates and supporting schedules in accordance with applicable lender requirements.
- Monitor debt balances, borrowing availability, repayment schedules, and compliance with applicable lending requirements.
- Track interest expense, including actual results, accruals, debt activity, and interest rate changes, and prepare interest expense projections for financial planning and forecasting purposes.
- Maintain accurate schedules for outstanding borrowings, interest expense, and other financing-related activities.
- Partner with Corporate Accounting and FP&A to ensure treasury activity is accurately reflected in the company’s financial reporting, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Facilitate state tax return preparation and filing processes in coordination with outside accountants, including gathering information, reviewing supporting schedules, and responding to questions and requests.
- Lead and coordinate business use tax filings and related compliance requirements.
- Maintain organized documentation and supporting schedules for treasury, debt, tax, and cash management activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve treasury processes, reporting, controls, and efficiency through technology and automation.
- Develop and maintain financial models, reports, and analyses to support cash management, liquidity planning, borrowing decisions, and other treasury activities.
- Perform other duties and ad hoc analysis as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field required; BS in accounting strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting, treasury, finance, or related experience, with experience in cash management, debt, banking, or treasury operations required.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statement concepts, with the ability to understand how treasury activities flow through the financial statements.
- Demonstrated experience with cash flow forecasting, cash reconciliation, debt management, borrowing, or related financial processes.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when working with financial data, reconciliations, schedules, and reporting.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage complicated, interconnected processes independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Self-starter with the ability to take ownership, identify issues, follow through on resolutions, and drive projects forward.
- Technology savvy, with the ability to learn and effectively use financial systems, banking platforms, reporting tools, and other technology.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
