About the Role
We're seeking an experienced clinician who is both an exceptional therapist and experienced in running a successful clinical practice. This person will help establish and grow Hillel Ontario's counselling service by building trusted relationships, developing referral networks, and creating a sustainable, student-centred therapy practice. The Therapist will provide counseling and therapy to clients in individual and group interventions for University students. In addition, the Therapist will develop and deliver mental health education, workshops, and training for staff and students as needed. The role also connects students with appropriate campus and community resources, ensuring they receive integrated, holistic support tailored to their individual needs.
This is a hybrid position, combining virtual clinical work with periodic travel to Hillel Ontario campuses throughout the academic year. - Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation, including intake assessments, case notes, treatment plans, and other required records.
- Collect, track, and utilize program and client data to support reporting, evaluate service effectiveness, and inform continuous quality improvement.

- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, support, and connect with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.
- Thorough understanding of Ontario's legal, ethical, and professional standards of practice, including client confidentiality, privacy legislation (e.g., PHIPA), documentation requirements, informed consent, and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

- Additional training or certification in evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, or other relevant approaches is considered an asset.
- Experience providing counselling to adolescents, post-secondary students, and/or young adults, including virtual therapy.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to establish and grow a new clinical service within a community-based organization.
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset with the initiative, adaptability, and ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Cultural competence and an understanding of Judaism, Jewish traditions, Jewish communal life, and the unique experiences of Jewish students is considered an asset.
