Traveling Casing Driller

$25-$38 per hour | Up to 100% U.S. travel | Full-time

At GeoStabilization International, deep-foundation and small-diameter drilling are mission-critical. We work on unstable slopes, emergency geohazard conditions, and structurally sensitive sites where installation accuracy, casing integrity, and ground control determine project success.

We are looking for experienced casing drillers who understand that this work is not simply about spinning steel. It is about installing structural systems correctly the first time, anticipating subsurface challenges, and taking ownership of the final installation.

What You'll Do

Operate geotechnical drill rigs to install temporary and permanent casing, tie-backs, micropiles, anchors, and related ground-support systems.
Maintain casing verticality, alignment, depth, orientation, and embedment within engineered specifications.
Complete pre-use inspections and operate the mast, drill head, feed system, rod-handling equipment, and controls safely.
Set up the rig on stable ground and identify overhead, underground, and changing ground-condition hazards before and during drilling.
Perform routine lubrication, preventive maintenance, cleanup, and equipment documentation; communicate repair needs promptly.
Execute site safety plans and protect the people working around the drill.
Coach less-experienced teammates and communicate clearly with field leadership, clients, maintenance, and project teams.

Required Experience

Minimum three years of deep casing drilling experience in geotechnical, deep-foundation, or ground-support applications.
Experience with concentric casing systems such as Symmetrix, ODEX, Elemex, or equivalent systems.
Experience with duplex-head, dual-rotary, or percussion drilling systems.
Experience installing temporary and permanent casing for tie-back, anchor, or micropile systems.
Ability to advance casing through challenging conditions such as collapsing overburden, mixed face, rock-to-soil transitions, high groundwater, or flowing sands.
Strong understanding of casing sequencing, grout control, structural load transfer, and installation tolerances.
Strong equipment-inspection and maintenance habits and the ability to recognize unsafe ground or utility hazards.
Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

Preferred Equipment and Technical Experience

Experience with rigs such as Klemm, Comacchio, Davey Kent, Marini, Soilmec, Casagrande, Beretta, Drill Kits, or Techno Drill is valuable. Experience with DTH, ring-bit or overburden systems, casing tooling, grout plants, grout testing, and anchor or micropile testing is also preferred.

Work and Travel Expectations

Travel up to 100% to projects across the United States; approved flights, hotels, food, and other travel expenses are paid by GSI.
Work outdoors in environments ranging from mountains to deserts and around typical construction hazards, noise, and heavy equipment.
Regularly lift 75 pounds or more and stand, bend, climb, and work around drilling equipment for extended periods.

Compensation and Benefits

$25-$38 per hour based on experience most relevant to GSI projects. Driller Helpers, Drillers, and Senior Drillers are hired at different compensation levels.
