Description

CodePath is the largest educator of college computer science students in the country. We've trained over 40,000 students from 1,000+ universities, and our partners include Amazon, Google, and other leading technology companies. We've spent nearly a decade training the next generation of technical talent, and we just launched a $150M initiative with Anthropic, building one of the most ambitious AI workforce programs in the world.

We're now expanding into new markets and scaling our team so we can move at the speed AI is transforming the workforce. People joining CodePath now will have the opportunity to help architect the next frontier of our work.

We believe technical skill is the fastest way to turn raw talent into real opportunity. We train the engineers the AI era runs on, building toward millions of learners, hundreds of millions in revenue, and billions in economic impact. If you want to own something and be part of a 0-to-1 journey at an organization moving at the speed of AI, this is the place to build it.

About the Role

Location: Remote, United States

Role-Type: Full-Time, W2 Employee

Reports To: Senior Manager of AI Practice, Claude Corps

Compensation: $110,000 to $124,500 per year

Start Date: September 21st, ahead of the October 19th cohort launch

Together with Anthropic, CodePath launched Claude Corps in June 2026, a national fellowship program with a $150 million commitment to place 1,000 AI-trained fellows at nonprofits across America.

As a CodePath Mentor, you are the full-time coach and guide for a portfolio of roughly ten pods: about 20 fellows across 8–12 host organizations, from pre-Basecamp through the final day of the program. Your job is to help each fellow succeed not only in building with AI, but in navigating the organization around the work: understanding the problem, identifying the right stakeholders, communicating ideas clearly, building buy-in, and turning an AI-enabled solution into something people will actually use.

The host organization directs the fellow's day-to-day work, the curriculum team owns what they learn, and your Sr. Manager of AI Practice is the manager of record who holds the performance bar. You carry the throughline across the fellow experience: you know your pods end to end, spot patterns and roadblocks early, coach fellows through ambiguity, and bring in deeper technical expertise when needed.

The work combines asynchronous coaching and feedback with regular 1:1s, office hours, milestone reviews, roadmap and project feedback, and synchronous coaching when a fellow needs more than text. Fellows may be building technical integrations, designing AI-enabled workflows, educating an organization on AI, or helping a nonprofit adopt an entirely new way of working.

You do not need to be the deepest software engineer in the room. You do need enough technical fluency to understand what fellows are building, learn unfamiliar technologies quickly, and help them reason through AI-enabled solutions. Just as importantly, you need the judgment and coaching ability to help an early-career fellow navigate the people, communication, and organizational challenges that determine whether their work succeeds.

This role is built for someone who gets energy from helping other people succeed. You may come from engineering, consulting, implementation, technical program management, AI enablement, education, or another client-facing technical environment. What matters most is that you have personally navigated ambiguity, helped people or organizations adopt technology, and can coach fellows through doing the same.

Key Responsibilities

Coach your pods

  • Carry roughly 10 pods (about 20 fellows across 8 to 12 host organizations) full-time from pre-Basecamp through final day, calibrating your time across the portfolio rather than sinking into one pod

  • Facilitate weekly 1:1s with all Fellows who report to you and document their progress, challenges, and successes using the tooling Claude Corps operates on

  • Coach fellows through ambiguous projects, helping them clarify the problem, understand organizational context, identify stakeholders, and determine the right next step

  • Give structured feedback on fellows' real work, including project plans, roadmap drafts, architecture proposals, presentations, technical implementations, and QBR deliverables

  • Help fellows strengthen the professional skills required to succeed inside their host organizations, including communication, stakeholder management, presentations, prioritization, and navigating feedback

  • Lead each fellow's Day 30/90/180/270 milestone review; own the fellow-level synthesis and hand it up to your Sr. Manager of AI Practice, who owns the roll-up and performance call

Deliver the curriculum in your pods

  • Deliver the just-in-time modules the curriculum team designs; author lane- or pod-specific content when they commission it because you have seen the gap from closer in

  • Coach fellows on applying AI tools and workflows to real organizational problems rather than simply completing technical exercises

  • Frame and debrief the cohort-wide all-hands your Sr. Manager of AI Practice runs, and the sessions where the curriculum team or a guest teaches your fellows directly

  • Co-lead the Basecamp practical assessment alongside Anthropic's instructors; it is your first calibration on each cohort

Help fellows navigate organizations

  • Coach fellows through stakeholder discovery, requirements gathering, presentations, organizational buy-in, and change management

  • Help fellows translate between technical possibilities and the business or mission needs of their host organizations

  • Guide fellows through situations where the technical solution is only part of the challenge and adoption, communication, or organizational alignment is the real blocker

  • Model how to work effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders, particularly in organizations that may be early in their AI adoption journey

Keep the program honest

  • When the same problem shows up across three fellows, raise it to the right owner: the Claude Corps leadership team for program efficacy, the curriculum team for curriculum, partner experts for technical depth, host-org managers for a host issue, or your Sr. Manager of AI Practice for a delivery or performance issue

  • Be the first stop when a fellow's work is at risk, whether the roadblock is technical, organizational, or professional; surface significant risks to your Sr. Manager of AI Practice, who owns the escalation

  • Work AI-natively: Claude and other modern AI tools should be core to how you research, build, coach, problem-solve, identify patterns, and provide feedback at scale

  • Help fellows develop the judgment to use AI effectively, not simply the ability to operate a particular tool

Key Success Metrics

  • Fellows can point to concrete examples of how your coaching improved their technical judgment, communication, or ability to navigate their host organization

  • 100% of host-org managers you've worked with in the last 30 days can produce one concrete example of your impact

  • You consistently identify recurring technical, professional, and organizational patterns across your pods and surface them to the right program owner

  • Every Day 30 review is done and documented, handed up to your Sr. Manager of AI Practice, with a plan for any fellow whose work is at risk or ready for the next challenge

Qualifications

Required

  • 2–5 years of previous professional experience in software engineering, IT, data, technical program management, implementation, solutions engineering, forward deployed engineering, technical consulting, AI operations, or another technically adjacent role

  • Hands-on, current experience using modern AI tools and workflows. You should be able to speak concretely about how you use tools such as Claude, AI agents, LLM-based applications, automation, or similar technologies to solve real problems

  • Real coaching, mentorship, people-development, or management experience with concrete examples of helping someone navigate a challenge and become more successful

  • Experience working across stakeholders to understand a problem, clarify needs, recommend or implement a solution, and help people adopt a new way of working

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to facilitate discussions, coach someone through an important presentation, and provide thoughtful asynchronous feedback

  • Comfortable operating as a technical generalist: you can learn quickly, ask the right questions, understand unfamiliar systems, and bring in deeper expertise when needed

  • Comfortable coaching early-career professionals through ambiguity, feedback, organizational dynamics, and the expectations of working in a professional environment

  • Comfortable with remote, synchronous obligations across U.S. time zones and about two evenings a month for cohort sessions and milestone reviews

Preferred

  • Client-facing consulting or implementation experience, particularly working with small businesses, nonprofits, education organizations, or teams adopting new technology

  • Experience helping an organization adopt AI, automation, new software, or another significant change in how work gets done

  • TA, bootcamp coach, fellowship mentor, instructor, manager, career coach, or other experience developing early-career technical talent

  • Experience facilitating workshops, presentations, professional learning, or technical training

  • Experience in a small or scrappy organization where understanding the business context was as important as delivering the technical solution

Compensation

CodePath has standardized salaries based on the position's level, no matter where you live. For this role, we're hiring for an Individual Contributor level position at an annual salary of $110,000 to $124,500. Salary is determined based on your relevant experience and skills as evaluated through our interview process.
