Clinical Quality Measure Project Associate

AIR is seeking a Clinical Quality Measure Project Associate to join AIR’s Healthcare Transformation Team. We work to advance equitable, high-quality, affordable, patient-centered care through rigorous research, evaluation, and technical assistance that focuses on what matters most to patients, families, clinicians, and the broader healthcare community.
We have a strong focus on quality measurement to ensure patients receive safe, equitable care. We also translate research evidence to promote understanding and adoption of best practices by patients, families, caregivers, physicians, nurses, insurers, health systems leaders, and policymakers. In addition, our expertise includes promoting evidence-based care for a range of clinical conditions; improving patient safety; and engaging patients and family members in the delivery of care.
Candidates hired for this position may work remotely within the United States or from one of our U.S. office locations. This does not include U.S. territories.

Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for the position include:
- Contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs). Ensure these measures are aligned with the Quality Data Model (QDM) and Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standards.
- Support the CMS electronic clinical quality measures (eCQM) Annual Update (AU) publication process by coordinating across measure teams to meet AU milestones.
- Review and provide feedback on eCQMs published annually by CMS.
- Develop AU supporting documentation, including measure technical release notes and measure flows.
- Contribute to quality measure maintenance activities, such as expert workgroup coordination and facilitation, performance data review, and implementer feedback reviews, to inform measure updates.
- Develop and maintain standard templates, processes, and workflows, all elements of which shall be consistent with AIR’s best practices and contract requirements.
- Provide support in project planning and implementation by managing, monitoring, and tracking project tasks using standard processes and workflows.
- Contribute to meetings with project teams and clients through agenda preparation and notetaking.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, and Experience

Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of related experience or equivalent education.

Knowledge of Measures Management System (MMS) Blueprint quality measure development and maintenance activities.

Familiarity with measure development tools such as Measure Authoring Development Integrated Environment (MADiE) and Value Set Authority Center (VSAC).

Prior experience coordinating projects in a fast-paced environment.

Experience effectively managing multiple activities to meet deadlines.Knowledge of electronic health records (EHRs) and clinical workflows in physician practices or other healthcare settings preferred, but not required.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize projects and to consistently meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment to design, analyze, and report on research projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or the equivalent (word processing, spreadsheets, email and calendar management, presentation software).
- Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.
- Comfortable working across a virtual/dispersed work environment.
